When Considering a Diamond Upgrade, Ask Yourself:
- What size diamond are you looking for?
- Will you keep your current setting or choose a new design?
The Process
The first step is to consider the size and shape of the diamond you’d like to upgrade to.
Book an appointment to visit our showroom and explore our current diamond selections in person.
During your appointment, one of our expert associates will present a few diamonds that match your preferences. They'll inspect your current ring to determine whether we can replace the head—or if selecting a new setting makes more sense. You're also welcome to browse what’s new!
If you decide to keep your existing setting, we’ll provide pricing to replace the head and refinish the ring to look brand new. This update typically takes around three weeks and includes a full appraisal of the ring.
If you select a new setting, we’ll let you know the timeline to order it from the designer, set your new stone, and appraise the complete piece. This process typically takes 4–8 weeks depending on the brand.
Helpful Tips for Surprise Upgrades
- Check if her current ring fits well. If it’s difficult to remove on certain days, ring resizing may also be needed during the process.
- If you're planning a surprise for a special date, be sure to start early. Allow 4–6 weeks for the new setting and 1–2 weeks for setting and appraisal once the diamond arrives.
