It’s the most wonderful time of the year (no, it’s not Christmas… yet!). But we are incredibly excited to introduce our newest em(brace)let: SHIP of Frederick County.

SHIP is a student homelessness initiative that provides much needed supplies, extracurricular activities, and emergency shelters that they don’t otherwise have access to. Encouraging continuity in academic studies is also paramount to the organization.

SHIP’s newest program, New Horizons, is a six-week summer program for homeless youth that helps them to complete their studies and earn their high school diploma. It’s a dual purpose program that allows students to recover academic credits in the morning session followed by part time work in the afternoon.
